1975 Sculpture Ceremony – 9AM-10AM
Please consider supporting our fundraiser for a 1975 Memorial, to be in place for Reunion ’17.
Donations can be made through the school to support the commission of a memorial sculpture at Brampton Centennial Secondary School that would commemorate the lives of victims and all those affected by the May 28, 1975 shooting.
The sculpture is well under way and it looks amazing so far. Mary Ellen Farrow is sculpting the project at her studio located at the Williams Mill Visual Arts Centre, 515 Main Street, Glen Williams.
The sculpture is under a tented canopy at the west side of the centre just outside of her studio and can be viewed at anytime. Anyone is welcome to visit and see the sculpture underway. Keep in mind that she cannot talk while working as she wears a mask and it’s pretty noisy. Feel free to give her a ‘thumbs up’. Mary Ellen is very passionate about the project and has been delightful to deal with throughout this process. She is a remarkable lady and we are so fortunate she agreed to work on this project. The benches are also there and she will be engraving the stone.
This sculpture will be unveiled at the 50th Anniversary Celebration for the school on May 27th, 2017.
